Helpful Consumer Information

Posting an enquiry?
The Post enquiry box offers a great way to tailor quotes to your specific enquiry and gives you the ability to attach files, documents and pictures that can help when communicating with related businesses. The NQ System guarantees that your enquiry will be sent to every listed business within your selected location, (this is a great way to contact multiple businesses). See how to use the Post Enquiry box in more detail

What is my inbox used for?
Your inbox is used for receiving quotes back for your recently sent enquiries so for example when you post an enquiry you can review the status of that enquiry and how many quotes have been received within the set deadline date you have chosen.

What is the sent box section used for?
Your sent box allows you to refer back to all your sent enquiries you have posted to that specific product/service.

What is the my history used for?
Your my history section is used for reading all of the quotes you have accepted past or present it only contains all the enquiries which have been accepted by you, (you will notice the enquiries are highlighted green in this section) that means a quote has been accepted by you in that enquiry.

When posting an enquiry what does the deadline feature mean?
The deadline feature is designed to determine a date you would like to stop receiving quotes for your enquiry so for example if you would like to stop receiving quotes for your enquiry the next day, you could set it to 24 hours (the next day). This helps you decide which quote suits your posted enquiry as having up to 100 quotes received could be a little confusing when determining which one to choose.

What does the location feature mean?
The Location feature was designed so you could receive a quote from businesses across the country and not just in your local area as businesses may be able to supply their product/service nationwide.

When posting an enquiry what does the image/file feature mean?
The post image feature is designed to help a business determine what is it you are looking for as they say a picture paints a thousand words, this is very crucial when posting an enquiry for a tattoo artist, builder, plumber and much more as the business could see the scale of work that needs to be done and initially give you a more accurate quote.

Alternatively you could attach a file to help with your enquiry, this could be a .pdf document with detailed building plans or architectural drawings, an audio file for a record you could be searching for on LP or much much more, the possibilities for sending files with your enquiry are endless.

When Posting an enquiry an attachment form has appeared on the right of the post enquiry box what is this for?
The attachment form is designed to help you gain a more accurate quote from businesses as they are the key questions each business must know to determine a quote to their consumers along with the post image feature these two features are a very powerful source when acquiring a quote.

Can I increase the deadline on an enquiry that has already been posted?
Unfortunately you cannot increase the deadline on an enquiry that has already been posted as businesses may have already replied with a quote in your time period, what we maybe suggest doing is copying and pasting the original enquiry and increasing the deadline to your specific needs.

My enquiry in my inbox has (1new) next to the subject heading what does this mean?
The amount in brackets next to the subject heading symbolises how many new quotes have arrived for that specific enquiry Note (look out for these as you may have the desired quote that suits your enquiry inside!)

My enquiry status reads Timed Out what does this mean?
The Timed Out status means you have not chosen a quote two weeks after your deadline has been reached, this is done to show businesses they are not waiting to see the outcome of your enquiry as some consumers may not desire to follow it up.

My enquiry status reads Complete what does this mean?
This means you have marked your enquiry as “Yes, the service was completed”. This marks the enquiry status in both parties’ accounts to show that the service has been carried out.

NOTE: - This should only be marked once you are happy that your service provider has completed their service successfully.
(please see full terms and conditions as 'Quotesin' takes no responsibility for any arrangements carried out between you and the business outside of the website!)

Will I be inundated will calls and emails from businesses once I have sent my enquiry?
No most definitely not, this is one of the main reasons 'Quotesin' is unique only once you have accepted a quote you are happy with are you asked to fill in your contact details to be sent to the business and vice versa as we say “Consumer Safety your personal details can only be viewed by a business once a quote has been accepted”.

What is a unique reference code?
A unique reference code is a reference between you and the business you accepted, it means you can only get the quote given exclusively through the 'Quotesin' platform. You MUST quote this when contacting the business outside of 'Quotesin'.

What is "releasing my personal details to a business"?
Once you accept a quote you are asked to fill in your personal details to send to a business to contact you. This was created so that you are not inundated with phone calls or emails, in turn helping you feel more comfortable and secure sending your personal contact details to the business you accepted. Note: - Try to enter as much contact information as possible; this will give the business a better chance of contacting you to purchase the product/service you require.

I have accepted a quote and filled in my contact details but a business hasn’t contacted me, what do I do?
That’s ok, if you log into your profile click the my history section, then click the subject heading of the enquiry you have accepted the quote for, inside at the top of the page you should be able to see the heading ‘You May Now Contact Your Service Supplier’ underneath this is the businesses contact details for you to contact them.

My enquiry is flashing saying action needed what does this mean?
This means that action must be taken on that specific enquiry for example if the work has been carried out then you MUST set it to "yes, the service was completed" this confirms that you are happy with the service. If they have not carried out the service yet simply set it to remind you in 7, 14, or 28 days time, then the action needed will flash up again reminding you.
